CFC Fish Retail Outlets
The Corporation also operates 105 retail sales outlets island wide employing its own staff and selling fish at regulated, and reasonable prices to the consumer.
Mobile Sales and Fish Mela Consumer Sales
In addition to fish sales by regions at retails outlets, mobile fish sales are also conducted to enable sales at locations in and around Colombo and other districts where it was not possible to establish permanent outlets.
A Fish Fair or Fish Mela as it is known also been started in selected major townships. The Fish Mela is at present operated at selected locations in Maligawatte, Ethul-Kotte, Kurunegala, Negombo, Anuradhapura and Waththala on a specified day of each week.
Lanka Sathosa
On an agreement reached with the Lanka Sathosa Ltd., the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation retails its packeted fish through the Lanka Sathosa outlets on a sales commission basis. There are presently 200 Sathosa outlets in islandwide retailing Corporation fish. This special project is work Programme to reduce the cost of living of consumers.
Metro Region
This division operates wholesale fish sales centre in Colombo district and a retail outlet within the Paliyagoda Market premises. Through these sales activities a control of the fish prices prevailing in the open market is thereby achieved.
