We are thrilled to introduce our esteemed Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Ambassador from Ceylon Fisheries Cooperation (CFC). As a leading organization dedicated to promoting sustainable practices in the fisheries industry, we have chosen a visionary and passionate individual to champion the cause of sustainable development and drive positive change.
Our SDG Ambassador, Eng. K A Rajitha Punsara Pemathilaka, embodies the core values and principles of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the fisheries sector and a commitment to finding innovative solutions, Eng. K A Rajitha Punsara is at the forefront of driving sustainable development in our industry.
As an ambassador, Eng. K A Rajitha Punsara plays a pivotal role in raising awareness about the importance of sustainable fisheries, protecting marine resources, and preserving the livelihoods of fishing communities. Through strategic collaborations, educational initiatives, and community outreach programs, Eng. K A Rajitha Punsara actively engages stakeholders to promote responsible fishing practices, mitigate environmental impact, and ensure the long-term viability of our marine ecosystems.
Eng. Rajitha Punsara is a well-known active member for promoting SDGs in the government and public sector, especially in the industrial and manufacturing sectors. He serves as the Youth Representative of the Sri Lanka Parliament Sectorial Oversight Committee on Increasing Export of Goods & Services, President of Scouts, an ex-Youth Parliament member (Senator), and has further enhanced his SDG-related leadership skills through programs such as the YCLI program by UNDP, the WYSE International Leadership program in Japan, and serving as a country focal point in SUNFO organization. Additionally, he is the founding member of the SDG Task Force in Sri Lanka.
With an impressive track record and a wealth of expertise, Eng. K A Rajitha Punsara brings invaluable insights and knowledge to our organization. Drawing from his experience in Engineering, Cold chain development, Sustainable leadership development, Industrial Consultancy, and sustainable production with a focus on responsible consumption, Eng. K A Rajitha Punsara spearheads initiatives that align with the SDGs, with a particular focus on:
