Ceylon Fisheries Corporation, under the new management will open 30 stalls island wide this year, and that it hopes to earn a target income of Rs. 500 million within this year.

It is the intention of the corporation to increase the fish consumption in Sri Lanka. Though the annual per capita fish consumption should be 24 Kgs, in the last few years it was around 12-15 kgs. But, last year it increased to 16.7 kgs, while the daily fish consumption increased to 47.6 grams.”
